Andrew was educated in the Castleton and Fair Haven school system and received his B.A. from Tufts University. After college, he spent three years doing seasonal work. From September through March, he worked in Antarctica, supporting deep field research as a member of the United States Antarctic Program. He spent the summers working on trail crews with the U.S. Forest Service and Green Mountain Club
In 1999, he graduated from Vermont Law School, magna cum laude, financing his education in part by tending bar. He graduated second in his class and received awards for top performance in contract law, land use law, criminal law, appellate advocacy, water resources law, and federal courts and jurisdiction. After his first year of law school, he spent the summer working for then Chief Justice Amestoy at the Vermont Supreme Court. After his second year, he spent the summer with the law firm of Gravel & Shea in Burlington.
After graduating from Law School, Andrew clerked for the Honorable J. Garvan Murtha at the United States District Court in Brattleboro. In 2000, he and his wife moved to Washington State to be closer to his wife's family on the Olympic Peninsula. He practiced law for two years at a large firm in Seattle, handling litigation matters for sophisticated corporate clients. In 2002, he joined the full-time faculty at the Seattle University School of Law, teaching legal analysis and writing. Notably, during his last year of teaching, U.S. News and World Report ranked the law school's writing program No.1 in the nation.
In the spring of 2005, Andrew and his wife returned to Vermont to raise their family. Andrew joined the firm in 2005. He has a proven record of success before courts across Vermont. He became a shareholder in the firm 2009, the same year he opened the firm’s Brandon office.
Away from the office, you will find Andrew outdoors with his family or working on his old house.
