I have practiced law in Vermont since 1978 and have been based in Rutland since 1986. My focus is in civil litigation doing personal injury cases and professional negligence cases of all types with an emphasis on major injuries and wrongful death cases. I also have considerable expertise in construction law, having been a contractor, representing both contractors and businesses dealing with construction issues. I also have many business clients that I have developed through litigation and provide business advice and risk management advice to them as well as handle major contract negotiations for them.
Prior to starting my own firm in 2000, I was the president of Keyser, Crowley & Meub in Rutland and prior to that the president of Kelley, Meub, Powers, & English with offices in Middlebury and Rutland.
I have been an active member of the civic community in Rutland. I was a board member of the Crossroad Arts Council, and the founding President of the Friends of the Rutland Free Library. I have been a member of the Rutland City School Board, as well as a Republican candidate for governor and Congress. I have served on the Vestry and served as Senior Warden of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Rutland.
I earned my law degree, with high honors, from Vermont Law School in 1978, and graduated from Lehigh University in 1968. Between 1968 and starting law school, I operated a farm near Middlebury, running about 100 head of beef cattle and 40 head of dairy cows. During this time, I served as President of the Vermont Beef Producers. While farming, I also worked as a carpenter, a mason's helper, and a contractor.
I am married, have one son, and one granddaughter.
